Athens to Parga
Here is the route we travelled when we went via Athens last year.

Obviously everyone has different preferences, but this way suited us as we arrived at 20:30  and by the time we got to our car and set off on our journey it was quite late. Everyone in Parga will tell you it only takes 5/6 hours to get from as Athens to Parga, yes if you drive like a Greek taxi driver it does. We decided to have a nights stopover in Loutraki and stayed in a hotel next door to the casino, Hotel Barbara , it was about an hour and a half from the airport to the hotel which is very close to the Corinth Canal, in fact you could walk in a few minutes. It gets you out of the city and we had a lovely nights rest and got up refreshed and ready to continue next day to Parga.

It took a couple of hours to get to the Rio-Antirio bridge and then we had a stop for lunch here. We crossed the bridge and headed to Messalonghi then to Amfilokia where we stopped again for a snack. When you get to Amfilokia, be careful you don't miss your turning, you need to go left on the harbour. If you go to the right you will still get to Parga but it is a lot longer route. After Amfilokia, we followed the road to Vonitsa and on to Preveza, from here it is only about an hour to Parga. The only problem we have is that there are so many beautiful viewpoints we keep stopping, so it takes us ages as we keep stopping to take pictures.
